Exams Included with Pro Lab Bundle

The Pro Lab Bundle supports the full range of lower extremity arterial evaluations:

Pro-Lab Vascular System Bundle

Newman Medical’s PC-based SimpleABI systems are specifically designed to provide quick and easy results when diagnosing lower extremity peripheral artery disease. These systems not only save time during examinations but also reduce staff training and re-training time due to their user-friendly interface.

With simpleABI, accurate full-page reports are quickly produced with the necessary documentation for reimbursement. The exam is made easy by following the report being generated on the computer screen, eliminating the need for memorizing complex menus or protocols. Since the system automatically generates the report, there’s no need for secondary downloading steps to store, print, or share the results.

Cuff-Link Main Control

The Cuff-Link main control unit is, quite simply, an integrated speed machine. The simpleABI 600CL Pro Lab Bundle integrates:

simpleABI Cuff-Link

  • An 8-port cuff selector
  • Interchangeable Doppler probes
  • Pressure sensors
  • A pump
  • Control software

The integration of these features streamlines the exam process, rendering it quicker and more straightforward while effectively reducing costly errors.

Cuff-link Remote

simpleABI Cuff-Link RemoteThe Cuff-link remote allows the user to step through the exam with remote push-button simplicity.

  • Effortlessly move from one site to another
  • Clearly visible display of the current cuff pressure
  • Push button inflation
  • Automated cuff deflation for accurate pressure readings
  • One button waveform creation

simpleABI Cuff-Link Software

Powerful yet simpleABI 600CL software saves you time and is what sets the simpleABI systems apart. The software is an integrated part of the system; no separate downloading of the data is needed.

  • Automatic index calculations to prevent potential errors
  • Automated timestamped storage of each exam
  • Option to include your logo and contact details in the report
  • Physicians, operators, and interpreters can be added to editable drop-down menus
  • ICD-10 codes available in drop-down format
  • Suggested CPT codes and interpretation of results displayed
  • Various report storage formats available: PDF, TIFF, CSV, BMP, JPG
  • DICOM software available as an option.

Reports

The Pro Lab Bundle software provides a complete set of tests and reports for lower extremity arterial evaluation. The tests that can be done with the simpleABI 600CL Pro Lab Bundle include:

  • Single Level Exams – Single level exams for diagnosing obstruction. Meets equipment requirements for CPT code 93922.
    • ABI-Q (Quick PVR Assessment) – A PVR based 1-2 minute exam to quickly assess the patient for the presence/absence of PAD.
    • ABI (Ankle Brachial Index) – with dual ankle Doppler pressures and PVR waveforms. This is the fundamental PAD exam.
    • ABI with Toe (Ankle Brachial Index + Toe or TBI) – with dual ankle Doppler pressures and PVR waveforms. PPG or Doppler can be used on toes. Typically used if the patient has calcified vessels the ABI cannot be obtained.
  • Segmental Exams – Multi-level exams for determining the level of obstruction. Meets equipment requirements for CPT code 93923.
    • Three cuff Segmental with dual ankle Doppler pressures and PVR waveforms. Ankle, calf, above knee. This is the fundamental PAD exam.
    • Three cuff with Toe – with dual ankle Doppler pressures and PVR waveforms. PPG or Doppler can be used on toes. Typically used if the patient has calcified vessels the ABI cannot be obtained.
    • Four cuff – with dual ankle Doppler pressures and PVR waveforms. Adds high thigh location to 3 cuff exam.
    • Four Cuff with Toe – with dual ankle Doppler pressures and PVR waveforms. PPG or Doppler can be used on toes.
  • Modern, efficient Segmental Exams – Multi-level exams done with PVR. These tests are much faster, easier on the patient, provide the information needed to determine the level of occlusion and meet CPT requirements
  • ABI Exercise Exams – Vascular exercise exams. Useful for pseudo claudication if the patient has PAD symptoms but the resting ABI is normal or questionable.
    • ABI with Exercise Single level exam performed pre and post exercise. Can be done with provocative maneuvers or treadmill protocol. Meets requirements for CPT code 93923.
    • ABI Stress with Treadmill – Single level exam performed pre and post exercise. When used with the specified treadmill protocol meets equipment requirements for CPT code 93924.

Doppler

The Cuff-link features a built-in Doppler system powered by Newman Medical’s sensitive, interchangeable probes — designed to detect blood flow sounds with remarkable clarity and precision. When not in use, probes rest securely in our unique magnetic holder, which cradles them gently without cracking or breaking, while its open design resists the buildup of dirt, gel, and germs. Every signal captured is then delivered through a powerful high-fidelity speaker that produces a smooth, rich response across the full range of Doppler sounds.

Vascular sensors

All Cuff-link vascular probes provide the sensitivity and reliability you need. All probes will work on all Cuff-links for maximum versatility.   Our 5 MHz and 8 MHz vascular probes have a smooth contour design that is comfortable to hold, comfortable for the patient, and easy to clean.

  • 5 MHz pencil probe provides excellent deep penetration for deeper arteries like the femoral, popliteal and brachial, and for deep veins
  • 5 MHz SteadyDop probe features a wide-angle design that delivers strong deep penetration, making it ideal for locating deeper vessels such as the femoral, popliteal, and brachial arteries, as well as deep veins
  • 8 MHz pencil probe is especially sensitive for vessels near the surface like the radial, posterior tibial, and dorsalis pedis arteries.
  • 8 MHz SteadyDop probe combines wide-angle coverage with superior sensitivity, ensuring reliable detection of superficial vessels including the radial, posterior tibial, and dorsalis pedis arteries
  • SPPG probe is a PPG probe used with newer simpleABI Cuff-Link Systems (serial numbers > CL404000 or CL804000) to produce PPG waveforms during TBI exams, especially for toe examinations when ankle arteries are calcified or occluded.

The Pro Lab Bundle comes with a 5 MHz and 8 MHz pencil probe, a 5 MHz SteadyDop probe, and a SPPG probe.

Cuffs

The Pro Lab Bundle comes with a complete set of specialized vascular cuffs. They are a washable soft material over a non-latex bladder. The cuffs are long enough to completely encircle the limb. The set includes:

  • 2 x 10cm EZ-Clean Vasocuffs
  • 4 x 12cm EZ-Clean Vasocuffs
