Why choose the simpleABI-Q over QuantaFlo?
Newman Medical’s ABI-Q exam provides a quick and reliable tool for diagnosing PAD. By utilizing PVR waveforms, the ABI-Q quickly helps the clinician assess the presence or absence of PAD. Minimal training is required to be comfortable using the ABI-Q. In less than 5 minutes, an exam is completed, including all reporting necessary for documentation. Connectivity to EMR and PACS systems is available.
Recognized Technology
- ABI-Q is based off Pulse Volume Recording (PVR) technology that has been recognized in vascular diagnostics for decades. PVR’s are not affected by incompressible or hardened arteries, so are an ideal tool in assessing PAD in the diabetic patient population. PVR’s are not affected by cold fingers or toes or ambient light, unlike PPG devices.
Diagnostic applicability
- FloChec and QuantaFlo are both PHOTO PLETHYSMOGRAPHIC (PPG) DEVICES
- Medicare considers PHOTO PLETHYSMOGRAPHIC (PPG) DEVICES to be experimental – “Photoelectric Plethysmography – This method is considered useful only in determining whether or not a pulse is present and does not provide reproducible measurements of blood flow.”
Why choose the simpleABI-Q system?
- For ultra fast testing, ABI-Q testing can be done in less than 5 minutes.
- Ideal for those with incompressible/hardened arteries
- Not affected by cold fingers or toes
- Available advanced Systems with segmental and stress exams
